Rustler Gulch

Rustler Gulch splits off of Gothic Road as it winds out of Mount Crested Butte.  I was told that at least 114 different kinds of wildflowers can been seen here during July.

I had some trouble with my GPS but found this route that should give you an idea of where to go.

Despite what guide books say, the side roads off of Gothic are not well marked or even signed at all in some cases.

High waters caused some detours and creative route finding.  There are two main water crossings to get to a huge meadow covered with wildflowers.  The first one found us barefoot fording through (ankle deep for some/calf deep for others) while the second one took a log bridge traverse.
