Picacho Peak State Park offers two trails that run into each other before heading to the top.  The most direct route is by Hunter Trail.

Quick Facts:

  • Total Distance: ~3 miles
  • Trailhead Elevation: 1,784
    • Elevation Gain: 1,401 (AEG 1880)
  • Bring Gloves!
  • GPS Route

This is one of the more interesting/unique hikes in the southern Arizona area, and one that i'd recommend everyone do at least one.  There are a lot of cabling and handrails along the primitive route to the top.  You definitely want to bring gloves.
