After coming down from Imogene pass into Telluride we quickly made our way up to the Bridal Veil Falls Power plant.   You can drive to the top of the switchbacks where there is a gate you can pass through to hike to Blue Lake.... 

The trail is about 3 miles each way with an elevation gain of 2,000 feet....
