Early Saturday morning I drove up to Rocky Mountain National Park in hopes of getting some sunrise shots.  Unfortunately, the closer I got to Estes Park the more apparent it became that the snow clouds were not going to cooperate.  I decided to head towards Glacier Gorge Trailhead and snowshoe in.

There are several options from Glacier Gorge, especially once you pass Alberta Falls. Realistically during the winter you should choose between continuing on to Mills Lake or The Loch.

It was snowing pretty hard for the majority of the day.  Most of my tracks were all but gone by the time I headed back.  Above right is where the trail (just following the creek, not the actual trail) ran into what I can imagine is a small waterfall.  I could hear the water running below me but was able to climb up the rocks and continue on towards The Loch.

The snow never let up.  I will definitely be returning in a couple months to hike this trail.  You can tell just by the outline of the mountains surrounding you that this is a pretty awesome place.
