Lake Helene Snowshoeing
We hadn't been out snowshoeing at all this winter so we decided to head up to RMNP. The original plan was to head to Lake Helene which was an ambitious 6.5 miles for a couple of out of alpine shape snowshoers.
Quick Facts:
- Trailhead: Bear Lake
- TH Elevation: 9,475 ft.
- Elevation Gain: ~1,300 ft.
- Total Distance: 6.5 mi.
With the wind gusting upwards of 20 mph we didn't make it all the way to the lake, but it's always nice to be out around Estes. We just have to keep remind ourselves that this is training for our trip to Iceland in a few weeks!
