Winter in Zion National Park

Winter in Zion National Park

Zion is a special place, and by far our favorite National Park.  Which is why when we were looking for a winter get away it was a natural choice. And come on... snow capped sandstone... it just doesn't get better than that!

Zion Lodge

Our home away from home while on this trip. The cabin was super cozy and perfect to warm up in between trails.

Oh sunset, how we love you :-)

The Narrows

The color of the Virgin River is like nothing else we have ever seen before. Every day we found ourselves staring at it ( as opposed to running directly into like we did the last time we were here).

Goofing around :-)

On our last day an intense fog came through the canyon. While it obscured the view of the cliffs, it made for some very dramatic images.

Court of the Patriarchs

On our first night in Zion, Denny braved the frigid 14 degree weather to capture these images. I however snuggled up in a sleeping bag and enjoyed the view from the window of the car. The stars are infinite, and it is such a treat for us to see so many of them.
